ERIC GILBERTSON, CPA

Partner, Tax, Accounting and Auditing

Eric has a diverse knowledge base as he provides services in accounting, audit and taxation for non-public companies, not-for-profit entities and local governments as well as entities involved in government contracting. In addition, he also provides consultation on employee benefit plans for a variety of industries.

Eric is a graduate of the University of South Dakota with a Master of Professional Accountancy degree. He interned with KRP in 2004 and joined the firm later that year as Staff Accountant. He earned his CPA certification in 2007 and was promoted to Senior Accountant. Eric's role continued to grow in the firm as Supervisor, Manager and then in 2017 he was invited to become a Partner in the firm.

Eric is also an active member of the Siouxland community, serving as a board member and coach for various youth not-for-profit organizations.

In choosing the accounting field, I was influenced by the collapse of Enron and the dismantling of Arthur Anderson & Co, a former national public accounting firm. The world of finance and business seemed dynamic, which I found intriguing and made me want to be a part of the industry.

The most rewarding aspect of working at KRP has been my personal growth, improving responsibility, time management and capturing opportunities during my career. I now have the privilege of teaching that same sense of responsibility and providing opportunities for the next generation. I am proud of the hard work and growth that led to the opportunity I received to become a partner with the firm. I want to make my parents and family proud of both my professional career and personal life.

I think what makes KRP a cut above the rest is our ability to learn and change every day. We have been able to recruit and retain skilled and experienced staff at all levels and we continually work to develop all of our staff to help enhance their careers and make the company successful.
